I have to fess up, he fishes and I go along for the ride. Kind of like when we golf, only exactly the opposite (bugger still usually beats me though). We’re up at Tobin Lake right now. Not fishing.
It’s not that the weather is particularly bad – a little spit in the morning, and looks like maybe a little this afternoon/evening. It’s just that we can’t be bothered.
We are pretty good just sitting around and BS’ing, or hitting the net (his wife is still in Vietnam, and we actually have an internet connection – but no phone or cell coverage – tells you something about the world, huh?)
At some point today, it just became too much effort to find a boat, buy a fishing license and actually get out there. The road trip was great – nice to see this part of the province – but as we get older, I’ve come to realize that it doesn’t matter what we do – just that we hang out together.
That’s why tomorrow we will be heading to my little cabin at Regina Beach. The rates are better, and what the hell, I have high-speed Wi Fi there.
Pretending to actually do something on my vacation… Dave
