He calls this his "brave knight" face. It's my nephew, Brody. It was his fourth birthday last Saturday, so Unkie Craig got him a Batman costume playset. Am I an awesome uncle? Well, perhaps. Some might use the word hero. Anyway, I got him something that I would have plotzed for when I was a kid. Since they didn't have any Darth Vader costumes, I went for the next best thing --- Batman!

Apparently, he was also impressed that my sister let him jump off the couch when he's in costume. He can't do that when he's Bruce Wayne.

C95's Rambling Dave sent me the coolest movie quiz the other day, on the Empire Magazine site. You have to identify what movie poster the supplied letter is from. My score was 27 out of 46. Can you beat that? Some of them were easy, some were harder.
Here's the link! Let me know how you did!

And lastly --- it's a sad week for the funkiest corners of African America. Isaac Hayes, known for his incredible music (If you don't own Hot Buttered Soul, you aren't a real music fan...) as well as being Chef on South Park, died this week. As well, comedian Bernie Mac passed away. Bernie was also a talented comedian, as seen on his show, though I particularily enjoyed him in The Oceans movies with Clooney and Pitt. Rest in Peace gentlemen...the world is a bit less funky without both of you.
One more for the road...

When he's old enough, I'll get him his own lightsaber.

On Bernie Mac & Issac Hayes...
The sad irony of the loss of both Mac and Hayes is that they both star in the upcoming film Soul Men alongside Samuel Jackson. The film had wrapped production and is now in "post", so no footage remains to be shot, but how it affects the release is hard to say, as there is the topic of death at the heart of the film. I'm sure co-star Samuel Jackson and all others involved are taking the weekend news very hard.
Darnit! 19 out of 46!
Darnit! 19 out of 46! That's still pretty good though, isn't it?
