Dir: Louis Leterrier  Stars:  Edward Norton, Liv Tyler

Synopsis: Fugitive Dr. Bruce Banner must use the Hulk to stop a former soldier that purposely becomes an even more dangerous version.

This is the second Hulk movie --- but it's not technically a sequel.  Ang Lee made the first Hulk movie, and it was a bit of a failed experiment.  It had some neat ideas, but ultimately it's artsy nature turned off a lot of people.  I didn't mind it, but I hated the ending --- super anti-climactic.  This Hulk is closer to the one you'd remember from the comics and the 70's Bixby/Ferrigno TV show.

Though the film is indeed action packed, it sometimes can come across as a bit plain.  It has all the proper elements, but it doesn't quite achieve greatness.  It's almost like they avoided doing anything too artsy because of the first Hulk movie, but they could have found a better balance between smart and loud.  To give you some context, the director is known for the Transporter movies (which are fairly goofy, implausible, and style over substance), so you know you're not dealing with the Einstein of movie making or anything.  As well, I'm not sure if I believed all the CGI.  And if you're going to watch a lot of battles take place, then it better look good.

All in all --- if you want to pay 12 bucks to see "Hulk smash!" then you've come to the right place.  I think they have enough of a springboard here to make another sequel.
