X-Files II and Step Brothers --- reviewed by Craig the Movie Geek
July 28th, 2008
I took in two movies this weekend!

The first one --- The X-Files: I Want to Believe
Dir: Chris Carter Stars: David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson
Synopsis: Mulder and Scully are back, working with the FBI to solve a case involving a missing agent, a bunch of body parts, and a disgraced psychic priest. This movie is not based on the alien conspiracy storyline that ran through the series.
Hollywood Rumour Control - Christian Bale (and this week's new releases)!
July 24th, 2008

Last week, Christian Bale was a clean cut, respected method actor, and about to release one of the biggest movies of all time (The Dark Knight, for anyone living under a rock). This week, he's the center of several controversies.

Dir: Chris Nolan Stars: Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Maggie Gyllenhall, Aaron Eckhart, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman
In preparation for the new Batman movie, I thought it might be fun to see what everyone thinks about the Batman movie franchises past and present (These are not in order of appearance).
Here are the Bat-questions, and I'd love to hear your Bat-answers! (Yes, it is much more fun to put "bat" in front of everything, though it's been driving my best Batgirl, Jenny, nuts all week.)
1) Who is the best Batman --- and why?

Hellboy II: The Golden Army reviewed by Craig the Movie Geek!
July 14th, 2008

Dir: Guillermo Del Toro Stars: Ron Pearlman, Selma Blair
Synopsis: The misunderstood demon and his team of weirdo heroes battle an evil supernatural prince who wants to wipe out the human world.

Dir: Peter Berg Stars: Will Smith, Jason Bateman, Charlize Theron
Synopsis: Will Smith plays Hancock, a drunken superhero that the world hates, and Jason Bateman is a public relations expert that's trying to save Hancock's rep.
If you consider yourself a movie geek and a foodie, and you'll be in Saskatoon on Wednesday July 9th, you'll want to check out Taste of Broadway! It's a fundraiser for the Broadway Theatre, where they'll serve fine wines, incredible food from some of Broadway's top restaurants, as well as a special screening of a famous foodie movie, Tampopo --- the first Japanese Noodle Western!
