I really can't explain how it happened, but its a fact. I, Brent Loucks, have become what some would call a "wine snob". Now, I don't know all the grape names and wine growing regions and I can't carry on a discussion on the best vintages and I don't get giddy over the coming harvest in the vineyards of the world. But I do know this....I love Bloodstone wine, made by Heritage Road Estates in Australia, and I have also discovered I don't like the 2006 Bloodstone that you presently find on the shelves of SLGA stores. Its bitter...not as sweet as past years...dare I say...its PLONK!! So, I need your help. Please give me some other red wines that run in the $10-15 a bottle range that I can enjoy until the next batch of Bloodstone hits the shelf.

Hi Brent, I don't know to much about wines, although while at the lake this past weekend the topic of wine arose. Apparently a good, relatively cheap wine, and also Australian is called "Yellowtale." Maybe try that out.

Wine!
Ah... One of my favorite subjects.
Try Bin 555 by Wyndham Estates. A real nice wine. This is my wifes favorite. It costs around 18 bucks.
If you want to drink a Shiraz (Syrah?) that is cheap (around $13), but still drinkable, try Eagle Hawk by Wolf Blass. (My favorite because I am cheap.) Make sure you get the Shiraz. The Cabernet is crap!
Also try, from South Africa, Durbanville Hills Shiraz. (Around $17). Don't be put off by the screw top. (Visions of Beau Sejour, the pride of Moose Jaw wine making.) I was originally reluctant, but after the lady in the board store explained that many wines were changing because of a shortage of quality cork, I bought this brand, and I am happy I did. A real good bargain.
Those are a few of my choices, but remember. The fun is in exploration, and discovery. Have fun.
