So my story is this....I wet the bed until I was 14 years old. Other bedwetters can relate to the social pressures that created, one of them being my refusal to go to summer camp. So, I am declaring this "Brent goes to camp week" and I get to try all those cool, fun camp activities I missed out on as a kid.

Monday morning it was Band Camp with Monika MacKenzie who gave me a 5 minute trumpet lesson. I enjoyed it so much, I think I will sign up for lessons this fall.

Day #2  it was my first ever archery lesson!!  Michael Kincaid with the Saskatoon Straight Shooters Archery Club set me up in the parking lot of Camp Broadcast House.

Day #3..I was joined by Brahm Neufeld with the Sci-Fi Camps at the U of S..and we made what he called Elephants Toothpaste....I would have gone everyday to a camp like this.

Dav #4..This morning..it was early morning rock climbing at Ruckers. Sorry for the short video..ran out of power. I made it about half way up the wall...honest.

Tomorrow morning, a special farewell to my summer camp at 7:45.

Brent: I am sorry you

Brent: I am sorry you missed out on camping since it is a great part of growing up. I would recommend you rent "Meatballs" as it is the greatest camp movie of all time.
And don't forget to tell a really good ghost story--or have a guest in to tell one.

I would also love to see/hear you cooking some s'mores .

Then wrap up the week camping out in the woods with your buddies as long as the wifes don't mind.

Missing out on camp

Brent - kudos to you for being open about the bedwetting. It is far more common than people think, especially among boys, but no one ever talks about it. I have gone through it with my son. The good news is, there is now medication that helps until kids grow out of it -- which they all do, but it's awfully hard to wait for that to happen, and things like camp and sleepovers go by the wayside. Thankfully, this medication enabled my son to go to camp!

So Brent, do you get to

So Brent, do you get to sneak out at midnight and paddle across the lake to the girls camp? May I come with you? PLEASE!!

Memories...

Making torches out of bullrushes for the big campfire sing along. But much to my dismay my parents had decided to start our vacation early and showed up with a car packed to the brim and towing the tent trailer. I missed out on the coolest night at camp. So my memories of camp are a nasty bee sting that kept me up the first night, a scummy in-ground poolfor swimming, and porridge for breakfast on a summer morning.

summer fun

well Brent i can make your camp week complete just let me know when i'm suppose to be there to give you a wedgee and run your undies up the flag pole

I am extremely happy for you

I am extremely happy for you Brent. Even though I really can't afford it, I send my daughter to the Sci-Fi camp as well and a Choir Camp both in Muenster each year. The experiences she has and the friends she makes are worth being a little short on cash. Also, lots of people wet the bed, so I wouldn't think on it very much more.

Bed Wetting....

I also was a bed wetter, not every night, but once in a while. When I went away to take my Grade ll at a larger center, I quit just like that!!! Later, I was reading Louise Hay's book "You can Heal your life" and it said Bed wetting was caused by fear of father. O K...I was scared spitless of my Dad, he ruled with an iron fist and so for me it was very relative. How about you??? Did you have an easy relationship with your Dad??? Just thought I would throw this in for you to think about. I hear you talk about your Mom, but not your father.....An interesting revelation perhaps??????
