Are there that many snobs in Saskatoon?
So the Alex Burrows/Ron Maclean fued is officially over. It all began with accusations made by the Canucks forward, stating referee Stephan Auger told him before a game " You made me look bad, so I am going to get you back tonight." Then Ron Maclean fired back, saying all kinds of things about Burrows. The back and forth went for awhile, eventually leading to the Canucks, last week, refusing to do any interviews during a Hockey Night In Canada broadcast. Well yesterday, the CBC and the Canucks Organization buried the hatched, and are moving on.
It was Rawlco Radio's star web designer Clint's birthday, so we decided to get him a little something.

Yes, yes we do work hard around here.

Happy Birthday buddy!

In 1987, Jason Perepelkin was a skinny little kid nicknamed "Pukey". I know this because he was a school buddy of my oldest son. Jason has come a long way since then...take a look at his credentials and title below. I want to thank Jason for reminding me just how old I'm getting to be. But honestly, I often meet adults from all walks of life who tell me how they used to listen to Penney and me when they were kids and while I may not like to contemplate the elapsed time, I do appreciate the stories. ( I also see my handwriting has not improved with age)
I wasn't sure if I would actually write this blog post.
I've been determined to avoid it as much as it has been eating me alive.
Here it is.
On Tuesday, Gormley shared the story of a young couple who went through the pain of delivering a full-term stillborn baby, and then posted the pictures of the tiny child's corpse - on Facebook.

It never ceases to amaze me, how critical situations bring out the best, and the worst in people.
A good example is this recent snow storm. You see the worst of people...impatient drivers trying to speed through the snow, neighbours pushing the snow off their yards and driveways into the snow clogged street, and people who don't care about others by NOT clearing all the snow off of their car. Back windows covered, a foot and a half of snow on the roof, that just blows onto the cars behind.
Some thoughts on the 'Blizzard of 2010.'
My son had his classes at university cancelled. A lot of people suggest it should have been declared a snow day in some communities. Huh? I’ve never had a snow day in my life!! Growing up in the city, school was always open and we walked. I lived close by but other kids had some long hikes. Snow Day? Sounds like something they’d do in Toronto, where it’s also known as "Call in the Army Day."

I saw Extraordinary Measures this weekend --- but let’s not bother with the review. All I’ll say is that though you get some interesting insight into the world of medicine and pharmaceuticals, the movie is way over the top in terms of melodrama. It is a syrup so thick that if you poured it on the pancakes that are story, they would dissolve, leaving just a mess of disgusting sentimentality and overacting where there once were story-pancakes. Go watch Lorenzo’s Oil instead --- that’s a much better movie on a similar subject.
