I went skydiving this morning and it was one of the most exciting things I've ever done. I absolutely loved it! What a rush! Wow. I can't wait to do it again! I was totally pumped and excited to go, but a little nervous and scared too. But the nerves didn't last too long.
Getting geared up was great - that's when the anticipation started to build. That is, until we were told we couldn't go because it was too windy. But, this is Saskatchewan, and the wind comes and goes, and it wasn't long before we were able to get ready again to head on up.
Some drive-by thoughts...
Do you really want an election this fall? Do you think an election will solve the impasse in Parliament?
First thing tomorrow morning I am jumping out of a perfectly good plane. Skydiving is something I always said I would do, but just never got around to doing. When one of my running buddies suggested getting a group out for a jump, I immediately agreed - and then I got scared. For two weeks, I tried not to think about it too much. Each time I did, my palms got all sweaty and I started to feel really nervous and scared. But now, I'm just excited. I'm really excited and totally pumped about the jump tomorrow morning.
I think Dennis Kucinich gave the all-time best speech at this weeks Democratic convention...love him or hate him...he gets them going!!!

I'm bustin' out of this one horse town this weekend to go to Calgary (a six or seven horse town at least!) to see Oasis and Ryan Adams live! So instead of a movie review this weekend --- I'd love to share some awesome news from the Broadway Theatre in Saskatoon!
It seems everyone who should be sharing responsibility for the Regina prison break (and the ensuing inaction to inform the public about it) has their pointer fingers out blaming each other. It is worse than an episode of the Keystone Cops.
To the Minister of Public Safety : you have failed. You (and your office) believed it was good enough to follow procedure and protocol, and rely on the RCMP to get the information out in a timely manner. This is simply not good enough.
Gentlemen, to the best of my ability I will try to explain the Lululemon phenomenon that has hit Regina.
Lululemon is the line of yoga clothing that is all the rage with girls and women, young and old. Near as I can tell – it consists of stretchy pants and stretchy shirts. In this province the only store is in Saskatoon, so when the Queensbury Centre opened up for a 4-day sale of some 20,000 sq ft. of clothing – the race was on.
So how about this. A nine year old pitcher in a co-ed little league in the States has been told he can no longer pitch. Why you ask? Is it because he keeps beaning little kids in the head? Nope. Is it because he threatend someones life? Try again. Did he start a huge brawl by threatening another kids life, then beaning him in the head? If he did that, he would probably still be pitching. Instead, the nine year old child has been banned from pitching because he throws TOO HARD!! So this leaves me with one question, where were these people when I was a kid??!!!
This one is for “Gentleman” Jim Hopson, the President and CEO of the Riders – originally suggested by Glen Suitor to News Talk’s Wray Morrison over dinner in Edmonton.
Cue “Party Train” by The Gap Band… How about a train running from Saskatoon to the gates of Taylor Field at Mosaic Stadium for Rider games?
Ok, I know that the kids going back to school will come as a relief for some parents – for others, not so much.
But, riddle me this. Why are they going back before the Labour Day Weekend? Perhaps an argument could be made for an early return if the holiday fell several days later – but why now?
